Why get a neuropsychological assessment?
Dr. Janusis conducts assessments to gain more information about why your child may be struggling in school, having difficulty following directions and paying attention, has no friends, cries a lot, or another challenge. Neuropsychological assessment can look at someone's intellectual abilities, language, memory, attention, executive functioning, social skills, and emotional well being. Dr. Janusis can assess whether your child may have ADHD, Autism, Executive Functioning Challenges, Anxiety, Depression, or another disability.
Neuropsychological assessment identifies your child's strengths and challenges and provides specific recommendations to support your child's success. Recommendations are individually tailored to address your child's needs at school and home.
Academic Assessment
In addition, academic testing can be completed to provide insight to your child's learning style (how your child learns best) and identify any challenges. Academic testing is required to determine if you child has a Reading, Writing, or Math Disability, Dr. Janusis' experience in schools can also assist parents with requesting and establishing appropriate supports at school.
